19th Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival has started in full bloom. It will continue until May 20, 2012. This year it is featuring the largest front entrance topiary. This weekend May 4-6 you can meet HGTV's, Antonio Ballatore, from The Antonio Treatment. He will be doing a show called "Design Outside of the Box", it will feature information on how to personalize, customize, and inspire your outdoor decorating needs.
This weekend you will also be able to enjoy Fresh from Florida Farmer's Market Salute. It will bring a taste of garden favorites to Epcot May 4-6, where guests will learn about eating locally grown food. Berries, Peanuts, Watermelon, and Bee Hives are a few examples of locally grown food to be featured.

My Family was lucky enough to go to this event last October and we absolutely loved it! We had so much fun! We meet a ton of special characters that only come out to play on the night of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Character's include Captain Jack Sparrow, Lotso, Many Villain characters, 3 Fairies from Sleeping Beauty, Flynn Rider, 7 dwarfs, and many more. My kids got a ton of candy, we enjoyed short ride waits, an awesome night time parade, and a great Hallo-wishes fireworks show! If you have a chance to go, I would greatly suggest it. There is a great special that overlap some of the dates as well.

Refurbishment News
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is still closed for refurbishment but should be opened by May 28, 2012
Look for soft openings in middle May
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin will be closed briefly for refurbishment June 27-29, 2012
Tutto Italia will reopen today, May 1, 2012 after a refurbishment with new menus for lunch, dinner, dessert, gluten-free dining, and kids meals. It will also feature a new wine cellar, Tutto Gusto, it will feature over 200 Italian wines and some Italian small plates.
Test Track in Epcot is now officially closed for refurbishment until the fall. Because of this there will be extended hours of The Character Spot as well as The Land Building.
It's Tough to Be A Bug in Animal Kingdom was closed for about a week due to a small tree branch falling off the Tree of Life. It has now reopened and the tree branches have been secured and a net placed over the walkway to the show.
Monorail Service on the express and magic kingdom lines has been suspended during non-peak times, between 11:30am - 6 pm. Watercraft and additional buses will be available to help with over flow.

D23 has announced Epcot's 30th Anniversary Celebration which will be held on September 30, 2012. More details to come soon.
RUMORS
A rumor swirling around a Disney's new Fastpass System testing. Staring May 1- May 15, 2012 there is word that Disney will be asking resort guests to test out a new Fastpass System, also known as XPass or NextGenX Project. This will include making reservations for rides in place of getting a fastpass for rides, wearing a wristband with (RF) technology to gain entry to the park, entry to your room, and purchasing food and other items. I can't wait to hear how it works out!
